Saints
At Our
Ladys we have four houses: More, Campion, Fisher and Alban. These are all very important Saints. As part of our Religious Education we learn lots about these Saints and why they are important people.Every child and staff member at school is assigned a house and this house follows them through their time at school.
We do plenty of things in our houses and they become a little family in school! We win house points for our house and participate in events. At the end of the school year the winning house gets a trophy!
Our children have researched the Saints and learnt about them. They have written some small fact files.
Saint Thomas More was a brave and kind man who lived a long time ago in England. He was very smart and helped make important decisions for the king. But when the king wanted to change some important things, Thomas More stayed true to what he believed was right, even though it was hard. He showed us that it's important to always do what we know is right, no matter what. We remember him as a hero of courage and honesty.
Saint John Fisher was a wonderful man who lived a long time ago in England. He was a clever
teacher and a kind bishop who loved helping people. Even when others told him to do things that he knew were wrong, he stayed true to his beliefs. Saint John Fisher was very brave and never gave up on what he knew was right. He showed us that standing up for what's right is really important, no matter what. We remember him as a hero of courage and faith.Saint Edmund Campion was a courageous man who lived in England a long time ago. He was very smart and loved learning. He became a priest and wanted to help people understand about God. Even though it was dangerous, he traveled around secretly to teach people about their faith. Saint Edmund was very brave, but sadly, he was captured and punished for what he believed. He showed us that standing up for what's right is important, even when it's hard. We remember him as a hero of bravery and kindness.
